POSITION TITLE : VP of Operations, Milliken Healthcare Division



POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Division President, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for leading the full scope of Operation for Milliken’s Healthcare Division, which currently consists of two manufacturing facilities with approx. 350 employees. As a growth area for the company, the division has plans to grow both organically and inorganically, thus the complexity of this role will expand with time. With the support of local plant management in Salisbury, MA and Portsmouth, NH, the VP will champion the achievement of business objectives and the overall cost effectiveness of manufacturing operations, logistics, and supply chain. S/he will strive to enhance Milliken’s comprehensive lean-based, continuous improvement program and will deliver an operational strategy to meet strong market demand. This individual will establish and deliver on key metrics and lead an aggressive capacity improvement, including expansion into existing Milliken plants and/or greenfield start-ups. S/he will:



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with the President and leadership team to drive a comprehensive, continuous improvement strategy across the division. Manage plant leadership teams and operational leaders to enhance best-in-class programs and processes. Evaluate and execute key metrics to improve product and profitability within the plants. Assess the company’s current operational capability and develop a recommended action plan to meet current and future demands. Promote a culture focused on safety and sustainability. Lead the review and upgrade of supply chain, logistics, manufacturing policies, procedures, and standards that will drive Milliken to a competitive advantage. Execute established goals/targets for leveraging process standardization to deliver increased annual productivity and cost efficiency within the plants. Effectively implement longer term succession and development plans for the next generation of manufacturing and operational leaders. Maintain a high-level of motivation and morale in the plants in addition to building a team-oriented work environment.

LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES Demonstrated history of hiring, retaining, and promoting world-class operations leaders and managers, with the experience, knowledge, and tools to be a performance management leader. Recognized industry leadership in operational excellence; experience driving process improvement in a top-tier industrial manufacturing environment. Ability to drive process improvement and standardized work across a geographically distributed multi-site network. A strong assessor of talent who can promote and drive succession planning at the site-level. A change agent: experience in utilizing management analytics and financial information to drive functional and organizational change.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED At least 15 years of manufacturing leadership experience in a world-class company. At least 5 years of experience leading multiple sites simultaneously. Proven track record improving productivity and performance, implementing and sustaining continuous improvement, and application of best practices. Well-versed in methodologies such as lean and experience implementing in different environments. Experience leading global operations. BS degree, engineering preferred; an advanced degree is a plus.
