Setter/Operator – 3
rd Shift

New Bern, NC – Full Time

Operate a variety of machines and processes and set up the machines to produce parts that conform to specifications with minimal variation. Perform maintenance and product quality checks for these machines as well. The machines include Pad Printers, Hot Stampers, Plastics Milling, and Ultra-sonic Welding. Also trouble shoots these processes and makes necessary adjustments or changes.


  • Understand and follow “Operator Instructions”, necessary for safe operation of machines.
  • Follow “training” instructions of the team leader and supervisor.

  • Observe machine operations and transfer accurate information to team leader.

  • Operate all Design Factory equipment.

  • Start up and shut down of all Design Factory equipment.

  • Perform all repetitive maintenance functions on all Design Factory equipment.

  • Clearing and understanding the impact of common faults on all Design Factory equipment.

  • Able to perform variant change-overs on each of the Design Factory equipment.

  • Perform all quality check required in Design Factory.
  • Understands and follows 5S strategy.

  • Assist in the adjustment of machine stops, strokes, pressures, speeds, etc. to achieve minimum part variation of conforming parts at acceptable cycle times.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as required by “TPM Schedule”.

  • Assist in machine repairs as requested.

  • Capable of training other associates.

  • Participate in problem solving process.

  • Participate in “Continuous Improvement Process”.

  • Store and clean tools properly.

  • Keep work areas clean and orderly.

  • Operate material handling equipment to store and replenish material needed for production.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualification Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Good understanding of plant and environmental safety.

Good math skills

Good communication skills

Any of the above requirements/qualifications may be waived for the successful candidate.


Technical knowledge of pad printing, foil decoration, plastics working and industrial controls.

Excellent knowledge of safety practices and procedures around manufacturing equipment.


Minimum of three (3) years in a technical manufacturing environment.

Machines, Tools Equipment (Office and Industrial), Software:

Calipers, force gauge, scales and height gage. Small hand tools and power tools. Light computer use.
