Phil Romano founded Macaroni Grill on a simple belief. Late 2018 Romano?s Macaroni Grill acquired Sullivan?s Steakhouse. A 1940?s Chicago-style steakhouse offering the finest Certified Angus Beef; select seafood, lamb and chicken entrees, appetizers, soups, salads, and side dishes (including Sullivan?s renowned au gratin potatoes). Sullivan?s is rooted in the rich tradition of classic steakhouses, but with a lively twist that turns every meal into a night to remember.

Summary:


Sullivan?s steakhouse is seeking a Service Assistant with one year of casual dining or fine dining experience. The Service Assistant acts as a working team ?lead? for the FOH staff, but does not have supervisory or management responsibilities. The Service Assistant is expected to perform, as needed, server duties and also to facilitate effective service through communication with FOH staff and management to ensure guest expectations are timely and effectively met. The Service Assistant is typically an experienced server and a resource for other front of the house personnel regarding questions, providing assistance in meeting guests? needs, recommending to management potential training and cross-training opportunities for FOH staff. The Service Assistant is not a tipped-eligible employee and is not eligible to participate in the Tip Share Policy.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assists in responding to guest complaints and resolves them in a way that ensures the guest will return again quickly and ensures that every guest leaves happy before leaving building

  • Assists the GM & Manager with training and developing an optimum number of staff who are enthusiastically dedicated to delivering the highest level of Hospitality to the guest

  • Helps GM & Manager execute plans based on guest surveys to improve guests? restaurant experience and increase loyalty

  • Assists the GM & Manager in achieving targeted budgets, goals and objectives

  • Assists the GM & Manager in community involvement programs and marketing runs

  • Assist the GM & Manager to ensure the profitability of restaurant operations by operating within cost of goods and labor productivity guidelines while providing quality food and exceptional service.

  • Assists GM & Manager in controlling other direct operating expenses such as utilities, small wares, etc., to minimize expense without adversely affecting operations

  • Ensures that all daily restaurant paperwork is completed accurately and on a timely basis including but not limited to: daily sheets; i.e. taste plate, Open Table, In Moment, etc?

  • Key holder; will be responsible on occasion for opening and closing of the restaurant

  • Assists management team to ensure that staff complete all daily restaurant paperwork accurately and on a timely basis including but not limited to: daily sheets, labor, schedules, orders, inventory and invoices

  • Displays ownership of Sullivan?s Steakhouse vision, values and purpose while holding others accountable



Skills/Qualifications:

  • 1 year of Casual Dining, Upscale Casual Dining or Fine Dining Experience
  • Strong communication skills, with enthusiasm and a passion for hospitality
  • Strong attention to detail and good facilitation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate, assist and identify training and development opportunities for staff
  • Professional behavior & decision-making skills
  • Adheres to dress code guidelines
