Senior Injection Molding Engineer


The Advanced Manufacturing team is a crucial part of Hypertherm's corporate operational excellence strategy and is vital in the introduction of optimal technologies for the manufacture of Hypertherm's products. The Senior Injection Molding Engineer (Design-Tool-Process) is a critical member of this exciting and innovative team and will have state of the art technology with access to our injection molding cell.


Ways you will be empowered to shape our future:




  • Support NPD and execution of strategic value engineering projects of the Hypertherm Advanced Manufacturing team




  • Work closely with the Engineering leader, Product Engineering, Business Team Operations and Marketing to define and deliver project objectives



  • Lead and execute re-design projects that accomplish design for manufacture and performance objectives from early scope to successful implementation


Who you are and the experience you will bring:




  • B.S. Engineering degree is required, preferably in mechanical, plastics, or aerospace engineering. A record of strong communication and collaboration skills




  • Minimum 10 years' combined experience in the development of engineered systems, products, and in developing injection molding products and processes




  • Minimum 3 years' of project management experience- planning, organizing and managing indirect teams to bring about the successful completion of specific goals and objectives




  • A leader of project teams with well-developed, innovative hands-on project management skills and a broad technology understanding




  • Experience with process development and tooling construction for high temperature resins




  • Experience working with internal and external partners for prototype and production mold builds and assistance in vetting out suppliers




  • Experience in multiple manufacturing technologies (such as injection molding, CNC machining, die casting, stamping, forging) highly desired



  • Experience in GD&T, CAD, FEA, xFMEA, and MSProject


Preferred experience that differentiates you:




  • Master of Science




  • Master Molder, or Scientific Molding Training/Implementation




  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt




  • Moldflow/Injection Molding Simulation software (Moldex3D, Sigmasoft)



  • PMP


Location: New Hampshire (Relocation assistance available)


Travel: 5-10%
