As a Senior Instructional Designer working on the Commercial Learning and Development (CL & D) team, you will be empowered to develop and deliver sales training curriculum, courses and coaching tools used for the training of USBU sales teams. A typical day will include:


POSITION OBJECTIVES:




  • Ensure that all promotional activities observed or taught are in accordance with Takeda Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct.




  • Builds the foundation of Takeda culture in new hires and instills it in existing employees.




  • Partners to maintain learning curriculum in response to marketplace conditions.



  • Create and develop learning solutions which facilitate performance improvement of our field personnel, which will result in an increase in market share for the company


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:




  • Follow best practices for identifying and writing learning objectives that will close identified performance gaps.




  • Conduct audience analysis to identify instructional techniques that will achieve the learning objectives for the specified audience.




  • Gather project requirements to identify design constraints and opportunities.




  • Work with subject-matter-experts (SMEs) to identify known and tacit content and exercises that will facilitate achievement of learning objectives.




  • Design training that accommodates the audiences' needs, meets project requirements, and will achieve stated learning objectives.




  • Develop the training materials needed to implement the learning (slideshows, leader guides, participant guides, handouts, job aids, e-learning modules, web-conference materials, self-check questions, games, activities, including vILT etc.)




  • Cite reference materials in accordance with PRT promotional review team (Medical, Regulatory, Legal) standards and guidelines during the development of all training.




  • Work with Project Managers, Training Coordinators, and Sales Training Management to ensure timely production and deployment of materials.




  • Train the instructors who will be teaching the class on how best to facilitate and enrich learner experience.




  • Adhere to PRT standards and guidelines, copyright laws, Takeda Operational Guidelines, and Code of Conduct during the execution of all duties.




  • Use best practice analysis techniques to identify performance gaps and root causes of gaps.




  • Follow best practices for identifying and writing learning objectives that will close identified performance gaps.




  • Conduct research through literature searches, internet, professional organizations, etc., to incorporate current and relevant practices in training designs.




  • Choose media for training that will accommodate the audiences' needs, meet project requirements, and achieve stated learning objectives.




  • Act as a Lead ID for large scale corporate initiatives (such as product launches) by: 1) creating an overall design of the large-scale training, 2) designating deliverables to be developed by other IDs, and 3) coaching other IDs on the development of these deliverables by reviewing the work and providing feedback.




  • Identify, design, and develop appropriate tools for measuring the effectiveness of training (Levels 1-4). Analyze results, develop conclusions and reports, and make recommendations to management.




  • Create templates and standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Instructional Design and CL&D Capabilities function.




  • Coach others on instructional design and related skills to enhance and further develop their training design and development skills and capabilities.



  • Conducts daily business and ensures that all promotional activities, observed or taught, are in accordance with Takeda Operational Guidelines and Code of Conduct.


EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:




  • Bachelor's Degree required




  • Minimum three (3) years instructional design experience, minimum one (1) year instructional design experience in sales training department



  • Understands instructional design and adult learning principles


Preferred/Desired:




  • Advanced degree




  • Sales training and management development




  • Sales experience




  • Analytical skills, writing skills, creativity and problem-solving skills



  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
