Job Summary

Our fast-growing crew is always looking for bright, talented, innovative people to join us. We are currently looking for a qualified Retail Store Manager to join our team. The Retail Store Manager is responsible for all store operations including product placement, inventory control and staff supervision. The Retail Store Manager will be required to maintain the highest level of customer service as well as outstanding store schematic to meet and exceed the expectations of the clientele.

Retail Store Manager Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed store financial goals

  • Actively pursue opportunities to increase sales

  • Support and communicate marketing initiatives implemented by the corporate team

  • Source and support Black Dog in-store and community driven events

  • Develop customers into repeat shoppers through excellent customer service, shared legacy training, and information gathering

  • Educate Crew and customers of product information and brand identity

  • Build a team of Crew members who pursue passions that relate to our product and philosophy

  • Maintain staff levels and create schedules that allow for the best possible Black Dog customer experience

  • Develop, educate, and inspire Assistant Managers and Crew Members

  • Build an environment that fosters open and respectful communication between Retail and Corporate team members

  • Ensure stores are compliant with operational standards and local, state, and federal regulations

  • Maintain efficient merchandise controls and loss prevention awareness amongst all Crew members

  • Ensure Corporate merchandising directives and brand initiatives are followed precisely and in a timely manner

  • Actively look for replenishment opportunities through model stock adjustments

Retail Store Manager Required Skills and Experience

  • Associates Degree and minimum three (3) years of experience managing a high traffic, high volume specialty store

  • Proven leadership and crew building skills with a standout history of rapid promotions and increased responsibilities

  • Strong merchandising and visual skills

  • Established interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Able to adapt quickly and positively to changes in business needs and strategies

  • PC experience required; Microsoft Word and Excel proficient

  • Ability to maneuver around sales floor and stock room, carry merchandise, unpack boxes, stand and walk for extended periods of time, and to lift 50lbs

  • Flexibility, adaptability and able to work weekends, nights and holidays
