Purpose of Position


Provide specialized skills and expertise necessary to organize, coordinate and manage projects, Responsible for management of all projects associated with MBDA COVID19 Business Resilience Center.



Essential Functions
  • Strong focus of raising resources to enhance Project performance and to maintain Resilience Center after Project ends.

  • Responsible for providing counseling and management of all projects associated with COVID recovery for businesses.
  • Prepares project specifications such as design requirements, cost estimates and schedules.

  • Attends meetings regarding projects and communicates requirements with various agencies and campus personnel.
  • Works on assigned projects with consultants and other technical personnel.

  • Maintains project files, records and support documentation of active opportunities and closing dates of relevance to clients and center objectives.

  • Prepares surveys, studies, reports and associated correspondence as required by the Minority Services Division.

  • Assist in organizing and planning weekly and quarterly strategic meetings with emphasis on counseling issues related to Resilience Center business advisors.

  • Assist clients with developing methodologies to protect their workplaces, employees and customers against potential health and safety threats, including the prevention of COVID-19 transmission and in developing Continuity of Operations processes and procedures.

  • Assist clients with accessing and applying for financial resources, to include Paycheck Protection program (PPP) loans, programs so businesses can effectively access capital and promote business sustainability, growth and resilience.

  • Assist clients with all forms of access to capital, particularly those related to COVID19, including loans and grants from various sources.

  • Manage resources to deliver technical assistance to targeted clients and to achieve balanced scorecard
  • Supervision of student interns as applicable to achieve program objectives

  • Represent the Director at public and private sector events that require knowledge of MBDC program operations.
  • Participate and attend program events.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.



Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration or related field.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work and take initiative without supervision.

  • Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals and organizations; Maintain confidentiality in all center and client work and details.

  • Five years of related professional experience in consultant to businesses in management or technical skills, staff member within a business/economic development organization, manager or proprietor of a business, or management and business planning experience in the private sector.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) or more years of related professional experience in any combination of the following: business consulting economic development activities; new product/service development and support; business analysis and planning; communications.

  • Ability to understand and solve complex problems; demonstrated leadership; ability to take initiative and work independently; ability to work effectively in groups.



Additional Information
  • This position is grant funded and is contingent with an expected end date of May 31, 2022 and is contingent upon funding availability. This position may be shortened or extended based on funding and /or availability of work.
