OVERVIEW



McCain is embarking on a digital transformation. As part of this transformation, we are making significant investments into our data structures and policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our business teams to use this data to make decisions and drive value through the use of data.



We have a new and ambitious Global Data & Analytics group, which serves as a resource to the business teams in our regions and global functions. We are currently recruiting an experienced Master Data team member to join our world-class data governance team.



JOB PURPOSE


The Global Product Data Governance Specialist will be part of a global team that is accountable for the governance of all product master data globally for McCain. The individual will follow global processes and leverage global tools to govern data in a way that is consistent and standardized across all regions. As a member of the Global Data Governance team, the individual will implement and maintain data governance strategies, including enforcement of policies, guidelines, standard procedures, and ensuring proper communications. The position will assist in data management, governance, and data quality of master data requirements for various functions to ensure master data integrity across the organization. This role will be responsible for driving data quality; creating reports/metrics to ascertain data quality and integrity; research, analysis and root cause identification of data errors and providing key design input for application functionality. This role will report into the Global Product Data Governance Manager.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Product Master Data

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will span the people, process, and technology pillars of Data Governance:


  • Assist the Data Governance Manager in maintaining master data governance processes from definition through to execution and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Product Master set up and maintenance by working with various business functions.

  • Contribute to the creation of data governance policies, standards, and frameworks

  • Support the development and implementation of Global Product Data Governance processes to establish a common data language globally.

  • Support the implementation of data management, data governance, and data quality tools/platform.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and create standard definitions for key metrics used throughout the company.

  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and ensure remediation according to data governance policies and standards.

  • Ensure compliance with data retention and security policies.

  • Create and maintain documentation pertaining to business processes and data

  • Lead data governance projects as assigned


Data Quality & Analytics



  • Work as part of a team to develop data audit and validation methods and procedures to ensure data quality.

  • Be part of the team to audit process to assure accuracy and integrity of master data and initiate corrective actions

  • Assist with regular compliance reviews against policies and standards

  • Administer the Issue Tracking and Resolution process

  • Understand downstream impacts of change to multiple systems.

  • Receive and analyze requests for new standards and values.



GDSN / GS1 Initiatives


  • Support all Global Data Synchronization (GDS) initiatives by processing and submitting materials into the Product Information Management (PIM) system as well as supporting Product Introduction via 1Sync’s solution

  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise as a result of failures with GDS between our PIM and our data pool 1WorldSync, working with IS team as necessary

  • Maintain scorecards on GDS including status with customers as well as overall data synch status

  • Ensure compliance of GS1 Standards, policies and business rules as it relates to the maintenance of data within our various systems

  • Work with various departments to ensure compliance with GS1 and identifying areas where the organization can better leverage standards to improve overall productivity and efficiency

  • Participate in GS1 standards meetings to stay in the know of new or changing requirements. Where applicable participate in industry work / task groups

  • Develop policies and procedures outlining the application and usage of the GS1 standards.


KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:


  • Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience with data management/governance, including but not limited to data governance, master data management, data protection, and/or data quality
    • Preferred: experience working in SAP for product data management

    • Preferred: experience working with PIM and Data Catalog / Data Governance / MDM technologies and systems

    • Preferred: experience in CPG or food and beverage

  • Global data transformation and data-focused change management

    • Experience harmonizing systems, processes, and/or data across business areas and functions

    • Experience developing and implementing data governance policies and standards

    • Experience building data catalogs and business glossaries

    • Experience documenting solutions in support of standards and best practices

    • Demonstrated track record of producing work that is highly accurate, demonstrate attention to detail, and reflect well on the organization

    • Experience participating in or leading organizational change management initiatives

  • Communication and influencing skills

    • Strong facilitation and project leadership skills with the ability to drive issues to closure

    • Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships with ability to engage resources outside of direct-control to gain consensus, meet deadlines and achieve goals and objectives.

    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
