10 Tampa Bay (home to the best beaches in the world!) is looking for a Content Planning Producer to produce original content, execute on breaking news, craft & fine tune reporter/anchor stories and other interesting duties as assigned for a dynamic and innovative morning show.


This position works an afternoon/evening schedule and is integral to the success of Brightside on 10 Tampa Bay.


Responsibilities:



  • Working with morning reporters and anchors on original stories

  • Pitching on-brand stories for daily and long form turn for digital & broadcast assets

  • Crafting franchise segments

  • Setting up live locations and events for multiplatform content

  • Planning content and securing interviews in breaking news

  • Collaboratively maintain an editorial calendar for the Brightside team

  • Create digital and social media as requested for our morning news team independently or in collaboration with our social media coordinator.

  • Identify key audiences and communities, research stories and content that matters to them

  • Collaborate with promotions and marketing departments to highlight certain stories; coordinate materials and video for promotional use.

  • Coordinate with news department colleagues for resources and staffing.


The content planning producer is one of 10 Tampa Bay's primary contacts with the community and represents 10 Tampa Bay to city leaders, business owners, entertainment management and just average people as they work together on our coverage.


We are looking for a self-motivated team player who has excellent organizational, planning and strategic-thinking skills. This person must be flexible with schedule and be able to adjust workdays and work hours on short notice if necessary. If this is you, we need one more quality from you: ability to work independently! Sometimes the schedule will move, but primarily the shift for this position is 2pm to 10:30pm.



  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or equivalent

  • Two years' experience as a line producer or segment producer

  • Strong leadership, writing and organizational skills

  • An understanding of audience flow

  • Desktop video editing and graphics production skills using server-based digital video systems are required

  • Proficiency with Adobe products, including Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere, is a plus but not required

  • Should be familiar with newsroom systems such as ENPS and website CMS

  • Demonstrated proficiency in using social media for news gathering, crowd sourcing, and interaction with viewers and sources

  • Engaged and active in social media, including: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or other emerging platforms

  • Knowledge of Tampa Bay and Florida is helpful in this position but not required
