Sema4 is seeking a Clinical Development Scientist in our Test Development department. The Scientist will be a part of the expert team developing new methods to expand our NGS services offerings and broaden our customer base. The Scientist will work closely with the clinical lab to implement the new workflow into the clinical operation. Strong experience in NGS; RNA sequencing a plus.




RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Review outcome of test runs in terms of coverage, failed regions, run metrics, and provide feedback to the wet lab

  • Simplify complex datasets for review by the clinical team

  • Develop and execute software testing and validation plans

  • Interface with bioinformatics and clinical teams to improve efficiencies in data analysis workflows

  • Partner with the quality assurance and bioinformatics teams to analyze and present summary data and quality metrics required for validations and audit



QUALIFICATIONS


  • PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field required

  • 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience

  • Extensive understanding of clinical laboratory operations

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Superior oral and written communication competencies

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
