Job Description Summary:


The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides patient care under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse. The CNA assists the Registered Nurse in caring for patients that come into an Option Care Health AIS/AIC.


Job Description:


Job Responsibilities:



  • Under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Nurse, and based on physician orders, provides direct patient care to patients in an Option Care Health alternate infusion suite/center.

  • Accurately and effectively, documents care in accordance with Option Care Health policies and other federal and state regulations.

  • Escalates issues and concerns promptly to the Registered Nurse and supervisor.

  • Follows processes and protocol to ensure and maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information. Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient and proprietary Option Care Health information.

  • Demonstrates current knowledge regarding the care of patients in the AIS/AIC.

  • Performs cleaning and disinfecting activities in the AIS/AIC between patients.

  • Participates in in-services offered by the various departments as appropriate.

  • Accepts other responsibilities and duties that may be assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

(i.e. hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.)


Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements:


Currently certified by the State Board of Nursing Examiners, in the current state(s) of practice and at least (1) one year of experience as a CNA under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Demonstrates competency in patient care standards required for safe delivery of services as evidenced by completion of orientation and appropriate competencies.

  • Basic level computer skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, access information on-line etc.)

  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
