Overview:

The Child Development Center Coordinator assists with staff supervision, ensuring licensing requirements are met, and coordinating curriculum development. The Coordinator is also responsible for classroom teaching. This is a regular, full-time position.

  • Engage all community members in a way that brings them to the Corps for programming, events, and Pathway of Hope.
  • In conjunction with leadership, ensure licensing requirements are met and internal policies are followed.
  • Prepare for and teach regularly in the classroom.
  • Assist with staffing needs and staff development.
  • Encourage parent involvement through engagement opportunities and regular communication.
  • Coordinate recruitment, registration, and intake of children into the program.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provides technical assistance to teachers, including lesson plan review.
  • Assist with the coordination of safety and health procedures (e.g., emergency, physical hazards, etc.).
  • Research and assist with purchasing equipment, supplies, and food for the program.
  • Properly record and maintain financial records (e.g., expenditures, grants, tuition, etc.).
  • Maintain relevant program records.
Qualifications:
  • Must meet the State of Minnesota, Rule 3 Teacher requirements (Rule 9503.0031-9503.0032).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in a child care setting.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Be trustworthy, especially in confidential matters.
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for the program; relating appropriately to children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and complete tasks with a minimum of direction.
  • Computer literate; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and online timecards.
  • Valid Driver's License and meet the MVR driver’s qualifications.
  • Must pass The Salvation Army and Minnesota Department of Human Services background checks.
  • Must be willing to support the philosophy, goals, objectives, and mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and Safe From Harm training must be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
