This Business Support Manager 1 will lead a team of Procedure Writers/Publishers, within Home Lending’s Product Strategy & Delivery group.


The Business Support Manager 1:


  • Manages a team who leads diverse support functions and/or operations/production oversight for 1-2 units/departments within a business group.

  • Presents to mid-level managers on business performance and recommends strategies to implement changes and improvements.

  • May support strategic initiatives for the business.


As an Employee Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically, you will:


  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Location preference is San Antonio, TX or West Des Moines, IA. Other locations within the Wells Fargo footprint may be considered.


Salary offered dependent on location.


The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.


IA-West Des Moines: Min: $67,800 Mid: $95,500 Max: $123,200

TX-San Antonio: Min: $67,800 Mid: $95,500 Max: $123,200


May be considered for a discretionary bonus.

Required Qualifications



  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: administrative support management, project management, business operations or strategic planning

  • 1+ year of leadership experience

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas

  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities

  • Strong relationship management skills

  • Experience researching, developing, writing, and editing operational procedures and documents

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, opportunities to streamline business processes, and implement change

  • BS/BA or higher in English, journalism, professional writing, creative writing, education, or communications



Other Desired Qualifications



  • Experience with procedure management

  • Experience with Open Text



Job Expectations



  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
